zxyzxy (Greg Pappas) was conceived at the beginning of 2008. Hansuru was a result of me just making songs over a period of a year under the moniker. I never intended to do anything with the project, but people seemed to like the songs I made, so I decided to scrape whatever material I had and make an album in 2009. This is why Hansuru sounds the way it does; it’s pretty much a collection of me learning.
Since then I have released several albums under the name.
Planning to join a music label is not in the horizon. Well, at least not for zxyzxy. I like having the freedom with this project, and I’ve been doing fine putting my music out on my own. Granted, the releases could sound better, but I am learning how to mix as I go.
This is why it’s free.
What am I doing right now?
Currently attending University of Alabama and majoring in Photojournalism and minoring in Chinese.
UPDATE:
I feel that I have reached the apex as zxyzxy. There will be more music to come, but with a big turning point in my thoughts of composing music, I feel it would only be proper to go by another name. It’s all outlined in my head, but as of right now, I cannot say when or where I’ll be popping up next. Not yet.
